Best Hot Chocolate and Cozy Cafes in Park City and Heber for Ski Season

Snow-covered Main Street in Park City, Utah

Ski season in Park City means cold fingers, rosy cheeks and a serious need for something warm. Skip the chain coffee and head to one of these local cafes instead. Each one is independently owned, and a couple of them take their chocolate very seriously.

1. Ritual Chocolate Factory & Cafe (Heber City)

Come for: drinking chocolate made from scratch.

This is the one chocolate lovers drive for. Ritual makes bean-to-bar chocolate at its factory in Heber, and the cafe serves classic hot chocolate plus single-origin sipping chocolates from places like Madagascar and Peru. Ritual’s Park City cafe closed in 2023, so Heber is now the place to go.

Order: a single-origin sipping chocolate, and take a bar home.

Where: 2175 W. 3000 South, Suite 100, Heber City
Hours: Monday to Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. See ritualchocolate.com

2. Harvest (Park City)

Come for: a hot chocolate made with local chocolate.

Harvest is a bright, local cafe on Park Avenue that lists Ritual Chocolate among its local suppliers. Beyond hot chocolate, the menu has mochas, golden mylk and London fogs for the non-coffee crowd. In September 2026, owner Emma Worsley opened a second Harvest in Midway.

Order: the hot chocolate or a London fog.

Where: 820 Park Ave., #101, Park City, and 195 W. Main St., Midway
Hours: Daily, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. See harvestparkcity.com

3. Java Cow Café & Bakery (Main Street)

Come for: a Main Street classic with house-made ice cream.

Java Cow has been a landmark on Park City’s Historic Main Street since 2003. It makes its own ice cream, and yes, people order it in January. There’s even a piece attributed to Banksy on the wall.

Order: a warm drink and a scoop of Chocolate Monster ice cream.

Where: 402 Main St., Park City

4. Hugo Coffee (Kimball Junction)

Come for: local small-batch coffee that gives back.

Hugo is a small-batch local roaster, owned since 2023 by Shelley Marshall and Joe Davis, with a portion of every sale going to animal rescues. Its cafe is inside the visitor center at Kimball Junction, an easy stop on your way into town.

Order: “the Kevlar,” a butter and coconut oil coffee that’ll fuel a full ski day.

Where: Park City Visitor Center, 1794 Olympic Pkwy., Park City

5. Five5eeds (Snow Creek)

Come for: a hearty breakfast and serious coffee.

Five5eeds’ motto is “Great Food. Serious Coffee,” and it’s a favorite for a warm sit-down breakfast before hitting the lifts.

Where: 1600 Snow Creek Dr., Suite EF, Park City
Hours: Daily, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. See five5eeds.com

Make it a cocoa crawl

  • Morning: Breakfast and coffee at Five5eeds or Hugo on the way in.
  • Afternoon: After skiing, warm up at Harvest or Java Cow in town.
  • Bonus day: Drive 20 minutes to Heber for sipping chocolate at Ritual.
